Italian is my favorite cuisine; so I’m always down to try a new Italian spot. Thanks to trusty Yelp I was alerted that Napoli Pasta Bar was opening in the area, and knew that I wanted to check out the restaurant sooner rather than later. I got the opportunity to have...

It has been ages since I’ve gone out for dinner, so recently I made it a mission to treat myself to something nice.  City Perch Kitchen + Bar has been on my radar for a while, so it was the ideal spot for dinner. Especially, since it is located in Bethesda and my siste...

I  celebrated my birthday last week , so a good friend of mine took me out to dinner. Mediterranean food has easily become one of my favorite cuisines to eat, so it was easy for me to choose to have dinner at Zaytinya. This was my first time dining at Zaytinya and I wa...

I finally got the opportunity to have dinner at Rasika after mentioning it repeatedly. As you may or may not know I am on the hunt to try different cuisines and Rasika was right on the top of my list. Although I went during restaurant week they only participated in the...

Without a doubt 2016 went by fast, but regardless I am looking forward to seeing what 2017 brings. I believe the New Year offers the opportunity to try new things and to tackle some of the items on my to- do list.  One such item is to try new cuisines. As luck would...

Finding new brunch spots are always fun, but I am guilty of eating relatively the same type of food regardless of the restaurant.  Being aware of this I’m trying to challenge myself by exploring different cuisines, so when my friend invited me to brunch at Agora I...

My friend birthday was on a Sunday and she wanted to do brunch at a cute but affordable place. Immediately I recommended Cava Mezze, which is easily my favorite brunch spot (thanks Jasmine for the introduction). It’s really hard to go wrong with bottomless brunch for $...

Quick weekend trips are always fun and efficient, especially since vacation time accrues as slow as molasses, so I went to New York last weekend to visit a friend. I took the bolt bus there and spent $60 on a round-trip, but if you look in advance I’m pretty sure you...

Sundays are for brunch and this past Sunday was no exception.  I had brunch at Lincoln Restaurant located at 1110 Vermont Ave NW, Washington, DC. We were able to find parking at the front of the restaurant and they also have a parking garage...

Finding new restaurants in the city is one of my favorite things to do. I'm that one friend who is always down to eat or that person who could recommend 5 diffe

About DC Trinity

Hey my name is Petal McDonald and i know being in your 20’s or 30's can be hard especially if you want to enjoy the city as much as possible with limited funds. Personally I enjoy finding new restaurants to try, free events to attend (or inexpensive events), enjoying the night life and finding the right workout classes (which is still a struggle for me). My aim in starting this blog is to provide my potential reader with a starting point for how to navigate the city, while staying within their budget and having a good time. I use the word city loosely because even though majority of my pieces on this blog will center on activities in DC , not all of them are found within the city, which is definitely not a bad thing.
