December 26, 2018

A couple of weeks ago I attended Art Basel (December 6th -9th), which is an annual art festival that is held in Miami.  Before going anywhere, I like to do some research to answer some of my key questions like where to stay, what to do, etc. Unfortunately, I wasn’t ab...

I took a short hiatus over the summer from blogging, but the free time allowed me the opportunity to try tons of different restaurants that I can't wait to share with you guys, one of  them being Boqueria. Unlimited brunch with bottomless drinks for under $40 is litera...

One of the beauties of living in the DMV is that we have a plethora of activities throughout the whole year, so although it might already be fall, there is still a bunch of options of things to do around the area. So to help my gals and pals out there I have put togeth...

My sister recently just celebrated her birthday, so it was the perfect excuse we needed to spend an extended weekend in the historic city of New Orleans. Three days was the ideal amount of time for our trip, and I wouldn’t recommend staying for longer unless you’re go...

Last weekend I got the opportunity to try Splash Cycle, which is an aqua spin class located on the rooftop pool of the Liaison Hotel, and if you know me I go to a cycling class almost every weekend, so it was right up my alley. If you already have your spin class routi...

We’re finally getting a reprieve from the on again off again rain and its starting to feel like summer.  So to help my gals and pals out there I have put together a little summer guide of activities, events, and places to eat this summer.

Recently I’ve been eating Asian cuisine non-stop, so when my friend suggested that we should check out Daikaya Izakaya, which is a Japanese restaurant I didn’t need much prompting. The restaurant is divided into two main areas. The bottom portion is the ramen shop and...

I visited Thailand in February and had a fantastic time, but the year has been progressing so fast that it seems like a lifetime ago.  When I saw Thai Chef Street Food on my Instagram feed, I instantly felt nostalgic because the décor accurately capture the essence of...

Italian is my favorite cuisine; so I’m always down to try a new Italian spot. Thanks to trusty Yelp I was alerted that Napoli Pasta Bar was opening in the area, and knew that I wanted to check out the restaurant sooner rather than later. I got the opportunity to have...

March 13, 2018

I recently traveled to Thailand to celebrate my birthday with my sister and two friends, and I loved every minute of the trip.  I choose Thailand for two main reasons.

•    I wanted to spend my birthday somewhere hot.
•    I wanted to travel somewhere that forced...

About DC Trinity

Hey my name is Petal McDonald and i know being in your 20’s or 30's can be hard especially if you want to enjoy the city as much as possible with limited funds. Personally I enjoy finding new restaurants to try, free events to attend (or inexpensive events), enjoying the night life and finding the right workout classes (which is still a struggle for me). My aim in starting this blog is to provide my potential reader with a starting point for how to navigate the city, while staying within their budget and having a good time. I use the word city loosely because even though majority of my pieces on this blog will center on activities in DC , not all of them are found within the city, which is definitely not a bad thing.
