This year is all about checking things off of my bucket list, so when two friends of mine indicated that they were also interested in going to Tulum, I wasted no time booking a flight. Tulum has been on my bucket list for quite a while mainly because it reminds me of B...

One of my goals for the summer was to explore Baltimore restaurant scene, which is currently exploding with chic restaurants with good food. Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to have brunch at Café Fili, which specializes in Mediterranean cuisine and is located...

If you've read my Valentine's Day Date Ideas post I did in February, then you would recall that I had the getaway house as one of the unique date options. If you're not familiar with that post then at this point you might be wondering what exactly is the Getaway House....

If you’re familiar with the Bethesda area, you would know that Anthropologie and Co. currently occupy the old Barnes and Noble space,  but what intrigues me about this Anthropologie and Co. location is that they opened a café inside the store called Terrain Café.  I lo...

It’s finally getting warm, which means that it is rooftop season. Chilling with my friends on a rooftop is my favorite thing to do in the city, and below I have curated a list of spots that I believe are worth checking out.

I am a big fan that H street restaurant scene is developing, especially since it is the only area in DC where you can find street parking with no issues. Typically when I go out to eat, I prefer going somewhere that entails me getting a little dressed up, but I decided...

It’s the beginning of 2019, which means that a bunch of people have healthy eating at the top of their resolution list, including myself. I like going out to eat, so it makes eating healthy a tad bit challenging, which was why I was so excited when I discovered Toastiq...

If you follow me on IG, you know that I’m currently obsessed with Asian food, so when I saw CHIKO on IG, I instantly knew I wanted to check it out.  CHIKO is a fusion restaurant located on Capitol Hill and as the name cleverly suggests it is a combination between Chine...

About DC Trinity

Hey my name is Petal McDonald and i know being in your 20’s or 30's can be hard especially if you want to enjoy the city as much as possible with limited funds. Personally I enjoy finding new restaurants to try, free events to attend (or inexpensive events), enjoying the night life and finding the right workout classes (which is still a struggle for me). My aim in starting this blog is to provide my potential reader with a starting point for how to navigate the city, while staying within their budget and having a good time. I use the word city loosely because even though majority of my pieces on this blog will center on activities in DC , not all of them are found within the city, which is definitely not a bad thing.
